Awesome Bar of the week - The Clinic in Singapore

The Clinic is over 15,000 square feet and is designed with labyrinthine-style, pill-shaped rooms that help give it a “drug” trip effect. The Clinic consists of 13 pill-shaped rooms that are all linked to one another. Each room has a different pill “theme” designed to mimic a different drug “side effect.” The entrance to the club is designed like a morgue, and inside, the staff is dressed like orderlies. Colorful pills, syringes, drips, test-tubes, and paraphernalia are everywhere here. For the club’s main space, a 730 square foot, capsule-shaped dance floor called Morphine (Everything here has a medical sounding name.) The lighting of the club has a trippy side effect. MY only question is.. it is safe to allow drunk people to use wheelchairs???? This place looks so twisted and awesome! just how i like it :D One day i will get to see all the cool places i am going to be blogging about... one day

Stick Boy and Match Girl by Tim Burton

Stick Boy and Match Girl in love

Stick Boy liked Match Girl,
He liked her a lot.
He liked her cute figure,
he thought she was hot.

But could a flame ever burn
for a match and a stick?
It did quite literally;
he burned up quick.

Waverly Hills Sanatorium

As mentioned before I am a sucker for paranormal things. I also have an intense interest in abandoned buildings from Old mansions to Mental Asylums, there is something so intriguing about abandoned buildings. I find the history behind them to fascinate me so much and the whole look of them almost like the walls have stories to tell if you know what I mean. I wish South Africa had more beautiful abandoned buildings but no building goes abandoned in this country due to squatters and they end up fucking up everything.

One of my personal favorites would have to be The Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Louisville, Kentucky. Construction on Waverly Hills began in 1908 and opened on 26 July 1910 by Major Thomas H Hayes. The building was designed to safely accommodate 40-50 Tuberculosis patients. Tuberculosis was a very serious disease back in the day since they had no antibiotics. People who had tuberculosis were kept isolated from the general public in a place where they could rest, stay calm and have plenty fresh air. A larger hospital had to be built due to the TB epidemic so a new larger Gothic style hospital was built this could accommodate 400 people! Construction began March 1924 and was open to patients again October 17 1926. Waverly Hills functioned as a Tuberculosis Hospital until 1961 after antibiotics were invented, it was closed down to be quarantined and renovated to be reopened in 1962 as Woodhaven Medical Services and remained a geriatrics  centre which was later shut down by the state in 1980. Waverly Hills still stands today and is in the process of being restored by the new owners Charlie and Tina Mattingly

Today you can actually go visit the Waverly Hills and they have guided ghost tours I would love to go see this place.

ROOM 502 – Rumor has it that a nurse was murdered or committed suicide in room 502. Legend says that the nurse found out she was pregnant by the owner of the sanatorium (go big or go home must have been this aunties motto) without being married and she had contracted tuberculosis, so hung herself in the room she was in at the time. Many Ghost hunters have gone there and come back with some kind of paranormal evidence or just spooky stories.

BODY CHUTE AKA  DEATH TUNNEL

According to one urban legend, the tunnel was a "body chute" where dead patients were tossed, and a body thrown in would make it to the bottom by simple gravity. But actually, the dead patients were strapped onto a gurney and by a rope and pulley system the gurneys were rolled to the bottom and transferred to a hearse. This was done to keep the morale high in the remaining patients. There is also a movie called “Death Tunnel” which was filmed in the actual Waverly Hills Sanatorium, the movie was a floppy dick with regards to the quality and acting but the plot was not too bad and the location was cool none the less.

Interesting HUH???.... here are a few more pics

H.R. Giger Museum Bar

Tuesdays i will try post about different Bars around the world so today's pick is The Giger Museum Bar... and for those of you who are not familiar with who H.R.  Giger is  he is a Swiss surrealist painter, sculptor and set designer, he won and Academy Award for his design work in the film Alien.

Here is some info about the Giger Museum Bar : Set in the Medieval Castle of St .Germain, in the city of Gruyeres in Switzerland. The interior of the bar  apparently propels you into a new reality, skeletal structures with arches made of vertebrae,a surreal  and gloomy atmosphere (just mind kind place). It is like entering one of his works, human figures and mechanical fuse together, nothing is normal (some people would feel right at home) , chairs and tables are fully transformed.

If you plan on going to this awesome place other then taking me with you, i suggest you book ahead of time it is popular for obvious reasons. I wonder if they have cool goblets to drink out of mmm
